Amazonia Investiga is indexed in various databases, libraries and repositories; indexing processes are carried out on platforms external to ours, for this reason, the editorial team does not commit to indexing documents on external platforms. The incorporation or not, as well as the time of its incorporation in databases, repositories, indexers and virtual libraries where the journal is present are the responsibility of the organizations that carry out this activity [Indexing].
The submission of the articles does not require Amazonia Investiga to publish them. The Journal reserves the right to publish or not an article. Likewise, the journal is empowered to make minor adjustments to the text that guarantee the quality of the publication.
This journal is open access. The journal applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) of USD 400 to accepted articles.
Our editorial policy seeks to expand collaboration networks. The author who submits his manuscript to our Journal agrees to be contacted later for a possible revision.
The selection of reviewers in our journal is made considering the subject of the manuscript and the academic background and experience of the reviewer. Our team has contacted professionals from different disciplines located on different continents, as well as a technical team, software platforms and computer services to guarantee the publication of documents that meet the required standards.
Evaluation Process
For the journal, the submission of an article implies that the authors certify and accept that it has not been published or accepted for publication in another journal, for which you must send the signed originality letter.
The articles submitted by the authors are preliminary reviewed by the editor of the publication, in the light of the editorial policy of the journal and the requirements established in the guidelines for the authors. Document similarity is verified through Turnitin Similary Check software. If any article does not satisfy this first review, it will be returned to the authors for adjustment and subsequent submission.
Regarding the evaluation process, the Editor first ensures that the articles meet the established requirements for authors. Once this is confirmed, the article is sent to two experts in the relevant field of knowledge for peer review (double-blind review). The anonymity of both the authors and reviewers is maintained.
Upon receiving the evaluation, whether favorable or unfavorable, the authors will be notified of the reviewers' decision along with any pertinent observations and recommendations. The authors must then address the suggested revisions and resubmit the article within the deadlines set by the editorial team. After this process is completed, the Editor will make the final decision on the publication of the article. If the manuscript is rejected, it will be permanently discarded and cannot be resubmitted to the journal. [View Peer Review Process Workflow]
Policy on Submission of Previously Published Documents
Our journal is dedicated to preserving the originality of academic content. Therefore, we do not accept manuscripts that have been previously published elsewhere. All submitted documents must be unpublished and not under consideration by any other publication concurrently.
Detection and Procedure for Previously Published Content
We employ advanced similarity detection tools to identify any significant overlap with previously published works. Should a manuscript be found to contain previously published content, the editorial committee will conduct an investigation to determine the nature and extent of the infraction.
Sanctions for Authors
Should a manuscript be found in violation of this policy:
- Manuscript Rejection: The manuscript will be immediately rejected.
- Temporary or Permanent Ban: The authors responsible for the submission may face a temporary or permanent ban on future submissions to our journal.
Appeals
Authors may appeal the decision by providing evidence that the content is original or that the use of previously published material is justified and complies with fair use policies and copyright laws. Appeals will be reviewed by the editorial committee, and the final decision will be communicated to the author.
These policies are designed to maintain the integrity of the academic literature and ensure that our journal only publishes original and high-quality work. We appreciate the cooperation of our authors in adhering to these guidelines.

(iii) All authors know and agree with its content.
Criteria and requirements for article authors - Structure for submitting articles.
Title: The title should be short, clear and accurately reflect the content of the work, with a maximum of 15 words. It must be provided in Spanish and English. Authors should avoid abbreviations, undefined acronyms and ambiguous terms. Including the central concepts of the study is recommended, as this makes the article easier to find in databases and academic search engines.
Author information: The author may be an individual or a corporate author. The following information must be included for each author: ORCID iD, academic degrees, current institutional affiliation, current institutional position, research group, institutional email address, city and country. When there are several authors, the corresponding author must be indicated.
Abstract: The abstract is presented as a single paragraph, in Spanish and English, with a maximum of 200 words. It must state the objective, methodology, main results and conclusions of the study. It should not include citations, undefined abbreviations or information that does not appear in the body of the article. The English version must be a faithful and proofread translation of the Spanish abstract.
Keywords: Authors are required to provide 5 keywords that concisely describe the content of their work, listed in strict alphabetical order and also given in Spanish (palabras clave). To support effective searches in bibliographic databases and indexes, these descriptors must be standardized. For this purpose, Amazonia Investiga recommends consulting the UNESCO Thesaurus, available at: https://vocabularies.unesco.org/browser/thesaurus/en/
Introduction: The introduction presents the research problem, its current context and the rationale for the study, supported by theoretical and empirical evidence. It must explicitly state the objective or research question, which should be maintained throughout the article and answered in the conclusions. It should also indicate the contribution of the work and briefly outline what the reader will find in each section.
Theoretical framework or Literature review: The theoretical framework sets out the theories on which the study is based. The literature review presents the most relevant and recent research related to the object of study. Sources should come mainly from articles published in indexed scientific journals and from academic books. Blogs, unattributed web pages, non-peer-reviewed repositories and documents without academic backing are not accepted as main sources.
Methodology: This section describes the approach (qualitative, quantitative or mixed), the type and design of the research, the population, sample or corpus, the instruments, the procedure followed and the data analysis techniques. The declared type of study must match the methodology carried out, and the analysis techniques must be consistent with the objectives, questions or hypotheses. The description should be detailed enough for another researcher to replicate the study.
When the research involves human participants, the ethical considerations must be stated, such as informed consent and, where applicable, approval from an ethics committee.
If artificial intelligence tools were used at any stage of the research or writing (information searches, data analysis, translation, copyediting or preparation of figures, among others), this section must state the name of the tool, its version and the task for which it was used. Authors are responsible for verifying any information obtained with these tools, and data, results or references produced by them without such verification will not be accepted.
Results: This section presents the information obtained in a clear and orderly manner, in line with the objectives and the methodology applied. Findings are reported without extended interpretation, which belongs in the discussion.
Tables and figures must be numbered, have a title and source according to APA style (7th edition), and be submitted in good resolution (at least 300 dpi for images). Axes, units and legends must be defined. Figures mentioned in the text must match those shown in tables and figures, and the text should not repeat information already presented in a table.
Discussion: The discussion interprets the results and compares them with the theoretical framework and previous studies, noting similarities and differences. It must include the limitations of the study and its practical and social implications, or its implications for the field.
Conclusions: The conclusions must be precise, respond to the stated objectives, and show the overall outcome of the research and its contribution to knowledge. They should not introduce new data. Suggesting future lines of research is recommended.
Declarations: After the conclusions, the article must include a declarations section with the following items, in this order:
- Author contributions: the contribution of each author is stated according to the CRediT taxonomy (conceptualization, methodology, formal analysis, investigation, writing, supervision, among others).
- Funding: the funding body and project code are stated, or it is declared that the research received no funding.
- Conflict of interest: any financial or personal relationship that could influence the work is declared, or its absence is stated.
- Use of artificial intelligence: authors indicate whether artificial intelligence tools were used, which ones and for what purpose. Artificial intelligence cannot be listed as an author, and the authors take full responsibility for the content.
If any item does not apply, “Not applicable” must be written.
References: Citations and references must follow APA style (7th edition). Every in-text citation must have a corresponding reference, and every reference must be cited in the text. The DOI must be included whenever the source has one.
Writing: The article must be written clearly, with correct spelling and the terminology of the discipline, avoiding repetition and vague expressions. Having the text reviewed by a copyeditor before submission is recommended, especially the English abstract.
Document integrity: The submitted file must not contain hidden text, white-colored text, invisible characters or instructions addressed to automated evaluation tools. The presence of such content will result in the rejection of the manuscript.
