Other speeches for Education in Engineering Industry in Colombia.
Abstract
The aim of this article is to empower teachers in a discursive domain of resistance to the discourse of development for mechanical engineering in Colombia, as attempt at construction of different languages to the processes of reproduction of the management discourse of the developed world. Methodology: it is addressed from the qualitative methodology, hermeneutical interpretive approach. The research was carried out in several stages: a) documentary, fieldwork, theming and analysis and interpretation of data, to address the research question: ¿What conditions possible to think in a discourse of resistance to hegemonic discourse created with the process of modernization? The data collection was the interview technique with professors of the programs of Industrial Engineering from three universities in the country, pioneers in this field of knowledge. Results: the concern was identified in speeches by: a) vision of the future for education in mechanical engineering, b) questioning the manner of making and teaching industrial engineering and c) questions the principles of rationality of the discipline. Conclusions: Mechanical engineering as a discipline responsible for management, planning and control of resources in an organization, to be based on the principles of economic rationalization, it originates in Colombia with the implementation of industrial capitalism and the installation of the discourse of development during the period of modernization in the second half of the 20th century. The present work is an invitation to make a reading different from the events which brought with it the development and the idea of progress that was inserted immediately into the minds of those who recognized how underdeveloped at that time, especially in technical areas and management as mechanical engineering.
